CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Vicki Good ’89
, RN, MSN, CENP will
serve as president of the American
Association of Critical-Care Nurses
(AACN) board of directors beginning
July 1, 2013. Good previously served
on the AACN board from 2008 to
2012, acting as treasurer during 2009-
2010 and president-elect 2012-2013.
Additionally, Good has been named
one of the 50 Leading Experts in
Patient Safety by
Becker’s Hospital
Review
magazine.
As administrative director of patient safety for CoxHealth in
Springfield, Mo., she conceptualizes and develops various safety
programs, including the patient safety, medication safety, employee
safety and infection prevention offices. Having previously held
management positions in critical care, patient safety and education
at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas and Baylor All Saints Medical
Center in Fort Worth, Texas, Good also has supervised students in the
adult critical care clinical rotation as adjunct faculty at TCU, where she
is currently a doctor of nursing practice student.
Good was recognized as the Harris College of Nursing Alumni of
the Year award in 2006, and she earned a MS degree in nursing
with a nursing leadership concentration in 1999 from Seattle Pacific
University.
Good holds professional membership in the American Organization
of Nurse Executives, the Association for Professionals in Infection
Control and Epidemiology and the American Society of Professionals
in Patient Safety. She writes and presents on a variety of topics,
including patient safety and communication, and has edited and
authored content for many AACN publications, including
Critical Care
Nurse
and
AACN Advanced Critical Care
.
Good has received many accolades during her career, including the
Beta Alpha Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau Excellence in Nursing Practice
and Management award,
NurseWeek’s
Nursing Excellence in Teaching
and a Professional Staff Organization Scholarship from the University
of Washington, Seattle.
